Staff Guidelines

July 24, 2020

-Instructors/therapists will park in the top lot to limit traffic patterns. Step onto the disinfectant mat, wash hands, and check in with greeter on arrival. Your nametag should be kept with you in the car.

-In order to limit indoor exposure, the office will remain closed to non-essential staff. The barn will remain closed to staff not directly involved in horse care.

-A face mask is required at any time when 6’ distancing cannot be maintained.

-Due to the additional risk of a rider who may not be wearing a mask, staff members in mounted classes/sessions must wear either a hat with a brim in addition to a mask, or a face shield and mask.

-All staff will be required to watch a video with updated COVID-19 procedures training prior to returning to the farm.

-An electronic screening survey (Envoy) must be completed upon arrival at the farm each time for scheduled sessions. This survey will be updated as local, state, and federal guidelines are adjusted. Specific answers to questions on this survey may result in a required 14-day hiatus from the farm.

-Although a water station will remain available, we encourage staff members to bring their own water and at minimum their own water bottle to reduce exposure.

-Hands must be washed with soap and water upon arrival and between every client, using the pavilion bathroom.

-Therapist/instructor is responsible to check helmet fit, tack correctness, and girth tightness prior to mounting.

-We will start back at a walk only for clients who require a horse leader and/or sidewalkers, to minimize exposure.

-The outdoor arena is preferred to use when possible.
