NORA

Nora is 13.3 hand high Norweigan fjord mare. She is a gentle pony and has been in parades, demonstrations and even flown on a plane. She was born in Alaska on April 5, 1994, and has been mostly a trial horse with some harness training. She is proving to be an excellent therapy horse. She doesn't like to be sprayed with a hose or a fly spray. She should never be tied when getting sprayed.

DAISY
Daisy is a cross between Welsh and Sheland ponies. She is very gentle, and good for learning to lead and pick her feet. She is sometimes a little shy but warms up quickly if she feels secure with her handler. Daisy can walk briskly, and has a fast little trot. She is great on a lead line but not for independent riding. She is training to go out in the community and serve as our spokespony. She's scheduled, for her first visit, to hang out with the 2-year-olds at Aldersgate Preschool in Chapel Hill this fall and then with the business exeutives at the Carrboro-Chapel Hill Chamber of Commerce next year.

Gabe

Gabe is a 24 year old bay Quarter Horse who comes to us with quite a diverse background, He's shown in many hunter shows as well as participated in some dressage, eventing and cross country. His range of experiences shows in his good natured, sweet, laid back personality dubbing him a real gentleman. He is wonderfully responsive to his rider and has a dynamic walk and trot, without too much bounce. Due to grinding, he has very flat teeth and cannot eat hay, but don't worry... he gets yummy "grain soup" every day!

Romeo

Romeo is a gentle roan colored gelding. He has both a slow trot and something similar to a running walk. It is a team effort to get him to trot in class! Romeo is very reliable in the mounting area and accepts some of our most challenging mounts. If his leader hangs on halter, he will toss his head. Romeo can be pushy, so leaders must be persistent in asking him to respect their space, even when he wants to "cuddle".

Banner

Banner is a 14.1 hand Haflinger gelding. He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska in the spring of 1998 and spent most of his life there. His gentle and trusting nature has made him an excellent mount for our riders. Banner has experienced much natural horsemanship style training and enjoys playing with people! He is a  sweet horse who tries hard to please, both on the ground and under saddle. Water and fly spray are new for Banner, so have a staff member help you. Banner loves to roll. He will to hesitate to do so with a saddle so please keep him tied while tacking and be attentive while leading him.
